The state Assembly speaker is still upset about a last minute budget deal in September between three of his fellow G-O-P senators and Governor Scott Walker. Robin Vos used the word “terrorists” to describe senators Chris Kapenga, Duey Strobel, and Steve Nass. On the statewide T-V show “Up Front with Mike Gousha” (goo shay’) Sunday, Vos said “You don’t hold somebody hostage for your own personal needs.” He said the three made a “backroom deal” with Walker for an earlier repeal of the minimum wage for state funded construction projects — limits on when school referendums can be held — and removing state funds for the Transportation Projects Commission that plans future highway projects. A Nass spokesman said Vos pushed for higher gas and property taxes that conservatives struck down — Walker spokesman Tom Evenson told the State Journal it’s “unacceptable” to describe public servants as “terrorists” — and Strobel said Wisconsinites expect more from their leaders.
