Madison golfer Jerry Kelly will try to keep his Top Five standing in the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs, as the second of three playoff events begins today (Thursday). The 50 and older pros are competing in the Power Shares Triple “Q” Championship in Thousand Oaks, California. Kelly has an early afternoon tee time, after he maintained his Number Five ranking despite struggling and dropping out early in last weekend’s playoff opener. Meanwhile, no Wisconsinites are competing in the World Golf Championships’ H-S-B-C event in Shanghai, China. Brooks Koepka, who won the U-S Open at Erin Hills in Wisconsin in June, is the first round leader in Shanghai at minus eight 64.
