Valders is a State Champion in Boys Cross Country! The Vikings achieved the school’s first state title in the sport since 1989. Coach Bill Dietrich’s squad captured the Division 2 crown on Saturday with a team winning score of 60, compared to Dodgeville/Mineral Point’s 99. Notre Dame Academy placed 4th. The Vikes also had the 2nd and 3rd top individual finishers in Cody Meyer and Trevor Wenzel, while teammate Jacob Patee wound up 22nd over the 5K course at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
Durand, meanwhile, took the state team title in Division 3. Brillion took 7th, while Manitowoc Lutheran placed 9th, two places better than last years effort at state. Nolan Winter of the Lancers was 42nd individually, while Gunnar Schlender of the Lions was 11th and Hunter Krepline 19th in the race.
