It was announced yesterday that the Wisconsin State Senate passed three reforms which would, according to Representative Scott Allen of Wauksha, “help improve the workforce, and expand access to good paying jobs.” The first reform allows employers to receive a tax credit for contributions to an employee’s college savings account. This encourages employers to invest in their employee’s futures. Also ratified was the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, which allows nurses to practice in any state that has also adopted the compact. The Technical Excellence Higher Education Scholarship Program was also refined, allowing students the ability to regain their scholarships if grades are raised to an appropriate level. Allen praised the Senate, saying, “I commend the Senate for their work today.”
