A jury has convicted a 21-year-old man of homicide in a fatal 2016 shooting in Green Bay. Television station W-B-A-Y reports that a Brown County jury found Richard Arrington guilty Friday of homicide in the first degree and possession of a firearm while convicted of an out-of-state felony. Green Bay police were called to a residence on April 2nd, 2016 where they found 25-year-old Ricardo Gomez, inside the home wounded. He was taken to a local hospital where he died. Prosecutors say a witness reported seeing Arrington fire three shots at the home on Day Street. A bullet struck Gomez in the heart. Investigators believe Gomez may have been an “innocent bystander” at the scene. Arrington went on the run, but later turned himself into police. Another man was charged with aiding Arrington during the killing, but that charge was dismissed.
