La Farge-based Cooperative Organic Valley says it is joining an effort to increase Wisconsin’s solar capacity and reduce the bills for rural electricity customers. Organic Valley will buy renewable energy credits for about 40 percent of the new project, which is expected to create 29 megawatts of solar capacity. The food company reports it has invested about six-million dollars in renewable energy in the last six years. The solar power from this latest project will be supplied to one dozen municipal utilities.
