A 33-year-old man is accused of providing the heroin that killed a woman in Berlin (ber’lin). A judge in Green Lake County has set bond at 50-thousand dollars for Samuel Moreno Baza, who’s in the Outagamie County Jail in Appleton on other charges. Moreno Baza faces new counts of first degree reckless homicide and felony bail jumping in the death of 31-year-old Lacey Chier in July of last year. Prosecutors say Chier’s mother found her body after she went to check on her — police found a syringe in the victim’s hand and other drug paraphernalia nearby — and Moreno Baza was tied to her death after text messages showed that the two arranged a drug deal. The status of the Moreno Baza’s case will be reviewed November 28th.
