Another major gift announcement yesterday for the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc County. Milk Source LLC, headquartered in Nearby Kaukauna, is contributing $100,000 to support the educational experience for visitors. Jim Ostrom, Milk Source LLC partner, stated “Agriculture in the 21st century has achieved the lowest carbon footprint and highest standards of animal care in human history. Harmers throughout America’s Dairyland should be proudly highlighting their experiences.” Milk Source partner John Vosters added, “It’s exciting to think this new agri-tourism destination in our home state will celebrate or heritage while promoting our industry’s commitment to quality and innovation.” Melissa Bender, Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center Director of Educational and Programming, said they continue to be humbled by the leadership of local Wisconsin agricultural leaders. She went on to say, “It’ll be another point of pride to name our dairy diversity exhibit in honor of Milk Source’s generosity.” The agriculture education center, just southwest of Manitowoc, is scheduled to open in early summer of 2018.
