A 21-year old Kewaunee man killed late last night in a rollover crash in Kewaunee County has been identified as Noah Gum. Sheriff Matt Joski (jah’-skee) said that Gum’s vehicle was observed about 11:00 entering the city of Kewaunee on state highway 29 at a speed in- excess- of 100 mph. An officer did attempt to pursue him but was unable to do so because of the high rate of speed. The policeman continued south on First Street leaving the city as the street became Hospital Road when he noticed what appeared to be a one-vehicle rollover accident near Adams Road. Gum—who was alone in his vehicle—was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. Kewaunee rescue & fire department personnel responded to the crash scene. The accident remains under investigation by the state patrol along with Kewaunee Police and Sheriff’s officials.
