With the gun deer season just five days away, Governor Scott Walker has ended a total ban on hunting by those younger than ten. Walked signed a Republican bill during the weekend that lets children of any age take part in hunting with mentors — and the pairs no longer have to a share guns, either. The bill’s supporters say parents should be the ones to decide when their kids are old enough to hunt, but Democrats say it will make the woods more dangerous. The governor signed the bill during the weekend, and he also approved a bill for year round hunting of woodchucks with no bag limits.
