At least four new state champions will be crowned at the W-I-A-A state high school football finals in Madison. Championship games in the four smallest divisions are set for today (Thursday) with three more tomorrow (Friday) at Camp Randall Stadium. Only Kimberly, Saint Croix Central, and Amherst will defend their most recent titles. Two undefeated teams will square off first in the Division Seven final, when Black Hawk and Bangor play at ten a-m — and this afternoon, unbeaten Fond du Lac Springs takes Iola/Scandinavia in the “D” Six title game, followed by the Division Five final in which Amherst goes for its third straight crown against undefeated Lake Country Lutheran. Tonight (Thursday), unbeaten Lodi faces returning Division Four champion Saint Croix Central — and then on Friday, Kimberly goes for its fifth straight title in Division One.
