The Washburn County Sheriff says one of his deputies may have saved an injured hunter’s life. A woman called for help Friday night, saying her husband had shot himself in the leg, was bleeding heavily and was becoming light-headed. Deputy Josh Christman was the first responder on the scene and he put a tourniquet on the man’s leg to stop the bleeding. His boss says Deputy Christman’s clear and calm approach may have saved a life. The sheriff also gave credit to other emergency responders who arrived quickly. The name of the man who shot himself hasn’t been released.
