Damage is estimated at $10 thousand from a house fire this morning in Two Rivers. Fire Chief Scott Schneider says they received a call shortly after seven from the home of Misty L. Halseth in the 1800 block of 13th Street. Scheinder says the five occupants of the structer heard the smoke detector alarming and noticed a fire in the basement. The fire intensified after they attempted to put it out with water. They then evacuated the home and called 911. TRFD personnel had the fire under control within a half-an-hour and remained on scene until approximately 10 am for clean up and monitoring for any possible hot spots. Chief Schneider confirms fire damage to the basement along with significant smoke damage throughout the residence. No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by Two Rivers Fire and Police Personnel.
