The city of Manitowoc conducted the Downtown Parking Study recently, and the results have determined that there is no immediate need for parking structures in the downtown area. Mayor Justin Nickels announced the findings at a presentation for the Chamber of Manitowoc County’s Business Connects with Government series yesterday. Study did identified two areas downtown that are underserved by parking spaces, those being near Forefront Dermatology on York Street and on South Eighth Street near the Manitowoc County Courthouse and the Schuette Building. Nickels stated, “That just means realigning some of the parking, trying to find areas where there is private parking and make it public or working with business owners to make public parking.”
