Witnesses say a Chippewa Falls woman was drunk when she shot up her home, then drove her car into a tree. Dorene Maclachlan is charged with operating while intoxicated in the October incident. She is scheduled to return to Chippewa County Court next Tuesday. Maclachlan’s roommate told investigators about returning home to find she had fired several shots into the walls. While taking that report, police were told she had crashed her car into a tree not far away, then urinated on the front lawn. The person making the report said he took her keys because he thought she was drunk — and she started making suicidal comments while waiving a gun in the air. Her blood alcohol content was measured at point-187.
