The Sturgeon Bay Granary will remain standing for now, due in part to a pair of Alderwomen. Laurel Hauser and Barb Allmann both walked out of the council meeting, ensuring the vote on bids to dismantle the over 100 year old granary could not happen. Hauser said she left because, “I could not vote on this and get the city in more legal trouble.” Those who oppose the demolition of the historic structure are supporting the women, saying their actions are speaking louder than any words they could have said.
