Several TV stations in Iowa and Wisconsin, including one in Green Bay, are caught up in legal action being brought up against the Sinclair Broadcast Group. The $13.3 million fine is for alleged violations of sponsorship identification rules, and is the largest ever proposed for such a violation. The fine covers more than 1,700 instances, in which the stations allegedly broadcast paid news stories or full length programs without the proper disclosures. 29 of the violations are accused to have been perpetrated by WLUK out of Green Bay, all of which took place in 2016. Most of the paid news stories are for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
