A suspect in an armed robbery Tuesday night at CVS Pharmacy in Manitowoc is in custody.
That’s Manitowoc Police Captain of Detectives Dave Vorpahl (vor-pul). He was asked how Haney was identified as the suspect.
He says two additional suspects were also placed under arrest.
The 38- year-old has been identified as Jacob M. Hauschultz of Manitowoc while the identity of the 17- year-old male is not being released at this time. Officers were dispatched to the store at 701 east reed avenue around 8:30 Tuesday night. They were told a lone suspect entered the business displayed a weapon and demanded money from an employee. Haney allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the store. Meanwhile officers spoke to Hauschultz yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at a residence in the 2000 block of Johnston Drive for information regarding a runaway and an armed robbery investigation. During the discussion Hauschultz became nervous and ran out a door only to be captured a short time later. It was not revealed if the two male subjects were party to the crime and Vorpahl added that they don’t know if the robberies at CVS and the nearby Dairy Queen Christmas morning are related. Bail for Haney was set at $5000 cash and $300 cash for Hauschultz. Both are due back in court for initial appearances January 8th.
