A Hartland man accused of causing a fatal boat accident while he was drunk is scheduled to return to court in March. Sixty-one-year-old Jill Ladwig was killed while she was fishing on Lake Nagawicka last August. Investigators say 53-year-old Anthony Drewes told them he was “super drunk” when he crashed his boat into the pontoon boat carrying Ladwig, throwing her into the lake. Witnesses say Drewes’ boat was going 20-to-25 miles-an-hour at the moment of impact. Ladwig drowned. Police say Drewes failed three field sobriety tests. He could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
