The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay got 24 points from Sandy Cohen, and four other players in double figures, while rolling past Detroit Mercy 95-83. The Thursday win was the Horizon League season opener for both teams. The Phoenix improved their record to 6-8 overall after grabbing a 48-41 halftime lead. They went on a 21-6 run late in the second half to increase the margin to 15 with 2:20 left. Khalil Small had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Green Bay hosts Oakland Saturday night.
