Now that 2018 is upon us, people will start their New Year’s resolutions. A large portion of those who make resolutions tend to want to improve their health. There are several ways one could go about doing that in the Manitowoc area. The Manitowoc Two Rivers YMCA offers many different options from a weight room and swimming pool to several sports. Reiny Maier, the Tennis Instructor at the Y, told us about all the tennis related classes they offer. He said, “On a weekly basis we have an early morning session for the elderly adults, who play Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays…We have several adults taking lessons in the morning. We have our Junior program that usually runs in the afternoon.”
Those who prefer winter sports could visit the Manitowoc County Expo Center. As well as having Public Skate, and Figure Skating times, they also offer adult hockey. Some people may be interested in trying hockey for the first time, but are worried about not having fun, because of their lack of skill. Facility Manager Jennell Krizek puts those worries to bed, saying “I believe that all of the groups are very good about bringing in anybody that want to participate, because the more people that they have, the more fun it’s going to be for everybody.”
