Brown County businesses think most customers won’t even notice the half-cent sales tax increase which went into effect Monday. The additional tax is expected to develop 147-million dollars in county revenue over its six-year life. The money will pay for road improvements, the Brown County Jail, county parks, the museum, libraries and the new expo center. Only seven Wisconsin counties don’t have an added half-cent sales tax and Calumet County is scheduled to add one in April.
