Madison is coming off one of the coldest holiday weeks on record. The National Weather Service says the average temperature in the city from Christmas Day through New Year’s Eve was one-point-six degrees. That is the second-coldest holiday week ever. Only 1886 experienced a lower average temperature over the same time period.
