Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says a group of six firefighters spent a night in “godforsaken territory” when they recovered the body of a missing man. Nineteen-year-old Jacob William Gleason ended up deep in a remote wooded area after he abandoned his car near the Town of Niagara Sunday. The firefighters found his body at about 8:30 p-m and decided to spend the rest of the night there in sub-zero temperatures after building a fire. They took turns carrying Gleason’s body out of the woods Monday morning. The Marinette County coroner is scheduled to conduct an autopsy tomorrow (Wednesday).
