The Manitowoc County Board will be meeting tonight, and the big topic of discussion will be Senate Bill 777. We spoke with County Board Chair, Jim Brey about the bill and what exactly it would do.
But why would this be a bad thing?
So in Lehman’s terms, if the bill were to be passed, the checks and balances system that would ensure no one position had too much power would be disrupted, giving more power to the County Executive, too much power in Brey’s opinion. As far as how he plans to stop the bill,
Brey clarified that parts of the bill would mainly effect Milwaukee County, but every single county would be effected if the bill were to pass.
