A Fond du Lac caregiver is charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing money from a 97-year-old woman she was supposed to be caring for. Fifty-three-year-old Margaret S. Meyers faces the charge in Fond du Lac County. A social worker at the county’s Aging and Disability Resource Department raised the alarm. A credit union had called about the victim’s account, informing the social worker that Meyer was cashing in 750-dollar amounts from the elderly woman’s account, twice-a-week. She was apparently doing the same thing with other accounts. Over a three-and-a-half-year period more than 311-thousand dollars had been taken.
