Neighbors say they had no idea the man living in their neighborhood was wanted for murder, he hadn’t really been laying low. U-S Marshals and Milwaukee police took Jaylind Newell into custody on Tuesday at the apartment where he had been living with his girlfriend. Authorities had been looking for Newell for more than a year. He is accused of shooting 20-year-old Marquise Goston three times in the chest in October 2016. Investigators say Newell killed Goston during a robbery. He was identified as a suspect when a fingerprint was found on a hair pik left at the scene. Newell was nearly captured in 2017. He was arrested in Waukesha for drug possession, but at the time, Milwaukee police didn’t have a warrant out for his arrest. He was let go.
