Madison Police report the arrest of a 35-year-old burglary suspect after she left her shoes behind and ran home in her bare feet. Officers were called Monday night after a 65-year-old man confronted the would-be burglar. Police say Debra K. Johnson had cut her hand while breaking in through a basement window. It isn’t clear why she left her shoes behind, but a police dog used the scent on one of the shoes to track Johnson to her home. The victims say they don’t think she managed to steal anything.
