A report by the Medical College of Wisconsin and Wisconsin’s largest city reveals Milwaukee is a hub for sex trafficking. Researchers found the number of victims steadily increased over a four-year period starting in 2013. A total of 340 people under the age of 26 were sex-trafficked in Milwaukee during those four years. The report shows 97 percent of the victims are women, nearly two-thirds are African-American and 55 percent were between the ages of 14 and 17. The report was compiled to establish a baseline, so it can be determined if future efforts to reduce sex trafficking are being effective.
