Prosecution and defense attorneys agreed that a Stoughton man accused in a fatal stabbing case is competent to stand trial during a status hearing Monday. Forty-nine-year-old Ted J. Bruno’s attorneys asked for the evaluation last month. Bruno was charged in November with killing 46-year-old Kim M. Gaida. Prosecutors say he stabbed Gaida 11 times November 27th in the home where Bruno had been renting a room. He told police Gaida waived some papers in his face, hitting him in the eye, saying he was going to kill Bruno.
