Marathon County officials are out today examining snowmobile trails to see if they can be re-opened. The area got five inches of snowfall Tuesday night after those trails had been closed last week due to warm temperatures. Marathon County Motorized Recreation Administrator Jon Daniels says he’s hopeful for at least a partial re-opening, but the inspections are necessary because the snowfall wasn’t uniform in depth all over the county. A lot of snowmobile enthusiasts are waiting to hear. Marathon County is home to nearly 30 snowmobile clubs.
