Authorities in western Minnesota say a 30-year-old Milwaukee woman tried to kill a state trooper after a traffic accident. Melody Gray has been charged with attempted murder. She’s accused of holding a handgun to the head of Trooper Mark Peterson and trying to pull the trigger, but the gun didn’t fire. The trooper was trying to handcuff a passenger in the stolen car Gray had been driving before it went out of control on I-94 in Moorhead. Trooper Peterson shot her in the arm. Gray and 29-year-old Dominique Crayton have several outstanding warrants in Milwaukee for charges including kidnapping.
