A former Manitowoc couple has died in a vehicle-pedestrian accident in Georgia. Doug and Helen Molzahn from Egg Harbor, Wisconsin were struck & killed Friday night by a vehicle on Highway 53, at Outlet Center Drive in Gordon County, Georgia. Doug was pronounced dead at the scene while Helen died later at the hospital. Reports from the scene indicated the couple, both 81, were crossing the street near the Calhoun Outlet Marketplace when they were struck by the vehicle. Doug Molzahn is a former geography teacher and principal at Lincoln High School and Helen was a retired nurse. Both were very recognizable from the Wisconsin Heart Association area fundraiser, Heartarama, held each spring.
