Both the Roncalli Jets and Valders Vikings receive number one seeds in their respective divisions at this weeks WIAA State Boys basketball tournament at The Kohl Center in Madison.
The top-seed Vikings will take to the court at 1:35 Thursday afternoon in a Division Three semi-final against the four-seed Kettle Moraine Chargers. Valders earned their first trip to Madison, since 1984 with, A 59-57 win over the defending state champion Xavier Hawks Saturday. That victory snapped a 53 game Hawk winning streak and denied Xavier a fourth straight trip to state. The other semi-final pits second seed Prescott—last years’ State runner-up against three-seed East Troy at approxiametly 3:15.
Roncalli earned the top-seed in Division Four. The Jets of coach Joe Garceau are headed to Madison for a second straight year and the seventh time in program History. They’ll play at 6:35 against the four seed Pardeville Bulldogs who are headed to state for the first time in 40 years.
The second D-4 semi-final has two-seed Clear Lake—the only undefeated team at the state tournament—playing three-seed Marathon at about 8:15.
