The Manitowoc Public School District is seeking passage of a referendum April 3rd. Superintendent Mark Holzman said the district will ask taxpayers to approve 3.5-million dollars annually for 3 years.
Holzman points out, this is the last year of the ‘2015’ 2-million dollar referendum…but, the MPSD continues to face financial challenges.
During his appearance on WOMT 1240 AM ‘s Be-My-Guest program on Monday, Holzman said a Blue Ribbon Task Force has been meeting to try and come up with a way to correct the revenue cap discrepancy among statewide schools.
The school administrator said the current tax rate for education purposes of $8.05 is less than 3 years ago when they first asked voters for additional funding.
