The Madison Ballet is facing an uncertain future with the departure of its longtime artistic director. The Ballet plans to cut more than half of the dancers from its company and to dramatically scale back its 2018-2019 season. The professional ballet company has struggled financially in recent years and cancelled the second half of its 2015-2016 season to regroup. This season the number of contracted dancers will shrink from 16 to just four or six. The company expects the search for a new artistic director to take another six months.
