The investigation into the threat at Kiel High School, and the mayhem that ensued last Friday continues. A few updates are now known, including that other people may have heard what the previously reported staff member had reported as gunshots. The staff member called 911 at around 6:45 AM on Friday, drawing a large police presence, including the Manitowoc SWAT team. Around 20 people were evacuated from the building as police cleared the building, and searched for a gunman, or the cause of the gunshot like sound. During a press conference later that afternoon, Kiel Police Chief, Dave Funkhouser, stated that the unnamed staff member did exactly as she was supposed to do, and the police teams performed very well.
