Kiel Police are wrapping up their investigation into reports of possible gunfire at the High School last Friday morning. The initial report came from a school staff member who thought she heard what sounded like gunshots at the south entrance about 6:45 a.m. Officers were on scene within a minute evacuating those who were inside the school. Superintendent Brad Ebert.

The High School was on lockdown all day with all classes and after school activities cancelled. Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted before an all clear was given about 1:30 in the afternoon. Ebert says he’s in constant contact with his staff and local authorities to ensure all schools in the district are safe and secure.

Kiel Police Chief Dave Funkhouser says a second local citizen has come forward hearing what they thought were gunshots at about the same time the initial report was called in.
