Given new life by Congress, the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute will fund dozens of research and education projects on the Great Lakes.  Two-point-eight-million dollars will pay for the projects over the next two years.  Congress restored federal funding despite a proposal by the Trump administration to eliminate the program.  Projects receiving financial support include efforts to restore the Green Bay ecosystem, developing a way to forecast dangerous currents in Lake Superior and development of a phosphorus model for Lake Michigan.
