Manitowoc County voters went AGAINST the statewide outcome on a referendum to eliminate the office of State treasurer position.  The final tally was 8,280 YES to do away with the post compared with 7,820 NO. The countywide tally to elect a new State Supreme Court justice was much closer than the State numbers.  Dallet drew 8,418 as opposed to 8,292 for Screnock or 1-hundred-26-votes. County Clerk Lois Kiel says voter turnout here was 27-percent.

Three County Board races were up-for-grabs Tuesday: Jonathan Neils was elected in District-13 to replace the retiring Melvin Waack.  Registered write-in Tye Geimer is the ‘presumed’ winner in District-24 and another registered write-in candidate, John Brunner, is the presumed victor of a seat vacated by retiring Jack Nasep in the 5th district.
