The challenger came out swinging, and took a huge lead, but incumbent Bob Zigelbauer made a huge comeback and retained his position. Meanwhile Jerilyn Dietz was able to hold on to a huge lead to claim the seat on the Manitowoc County Circuit Court Branch Two over Ralph Sczygelski. Dietz expressed her gratitude to the citizens of the county.

There were two Kiel School District referendums. The first was asking for an additional $840,000 for spending, which the public approved, but the second, which asked for $10.4 million to renovate the athletic complex and build a new auditorium, was denied. Kiel Superintendent Brad Ebert is disappointed that the second did not pass, but is lookin forward.

Manitowoc, Valders and Brillion School Districts all saw their referendums asking for more spending money pass. Manitowoc Superintendent Mark Holzman explains why this is a very good thing.

In other races, the Manitowoc Town Clerk/Treasurer will be appointed by the Town Board, while Emily Walker topped Joseph Turner in a close race to serve as Manitowoc County Multi-Jurisdictional
