A fisherman was out boating on the Fox River last night, when he spotted a body on the east shore. De Pere Police arrived at the scene near North Broadway Street, and determined that the man was roughly 50 years old, and had been there for no more than 12 hours, based on the temperature of the body. The man was carrying an ID, and a scan of the ID showed that police had had contact with him previously. The man’s name and why the police knew of him has not been released. The death is being treated as suspicious, but it was reported that there were no signs of a struggle found on the man’s body. The next step in the investigation is to look into the deceased’s background in an attempt to find any potential suspects.
