A 37-year-old La Crosse man is charged with intent to deliver more than 50 grams of meth. Martin Neumann was taken into custody last August when officers with the town of Campbell police were called to a motel about marijuana smoke coming from a room. Through a partially-opened door one of the officers says he saw a man trying to flush something down a toilet. When a woman let officers in, a search turned up nearly a half-pound of meth. Neumann told police a friend mailed the drug to him and he had sold about half to support his heroin habit. If convicted, he could get a prison sentence of up to 40 years.
