Door County authorities say an “ice shove” has caused considerable damage to a house in the Town of Union.  An ice shove happens when broken ice slides onto the shore under pressure.  The incident along the bay of Green Bay happened this week.  The ice pushed against the house and then inside, doing a lot of damage.  The home wasn’t occupied, but the caretaker was informed because the sheriff’s office was worried about a possible break to a gas line.  The ice which came through the wall piled up in a bedroom of the only house which was damaged.  It isn’t clear if the structure can be repaired.
