The Mishicot girls fastpitch softball team was a 6-2 winner over host Valders last night. The visiting Indians scored 2-runs each in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings for the victory. Megan Junk was the winning pitcher…on a 6-hitter with 3-walks & 3-strikeouts. Leadoff hitter Karly Ayotte paced the Mishicot offense by going 2-for-5 and a pair of RBI…Katie Koeppel was 2-for-4, Madelyn Dokey also went 2-for-4 with 2-runs scored and an RBI, and Jadelyn Novy added 2-hits, a walk, scored 2-runs and an RBI. Jenna Evenson was the starting & losing pitcher for the Vikings, as she Gave up 11-hits and 2-‘earned’ runs. Callie Behnke & Bailey Goehring drove in Runs for Valders. The Indians played errorless ball. Mishicot travels to Stockbridge/Hilbert this afternoon while Valders was expected to play host to Sheboygan Falls but will have to be re-scheduled, due to a scheduling conflict involving the Falcons. Other softball action scheduled today finds: Manitowoc Lincoln meeting Pulaski at the new Manitowoc baseball/softball complex at Citizen Park, Manitowoc Lutheran is on the road to face Howards Grove, and St. Mary Catholic visits Reedsville. Two Rivers at Chilton and Roncalli hosting New Holstein have been postponed.
