Poetry: Alive & Well & Living in Manitowoc! will be presented tomorrow at the Manitowoc Public Library.  Jean Biegun is the organizer of the event during Library Week and National Poetry Month.  She tells Seehafer News it begins at Noon and is expected to run until 1:30 in the Balkansky Room.  Biegun explains it involves community leaders reading their favorite poems.

And, to tell a little bit about WHY…those have stuck with them.  She added the 10-community leaders will be paired with 10 local poets.

The 2 emcees’ are English professors & poets themselves: Emily Lindemann from Silver Lake College and Jessica Van Slooten of UW-Manitowoc.  Biegun says the public is invited and as a souvenir, each person attending  will leave with a free copy of the booklet containing all 20 poems.
