The famous song from the musical, Damn Yankees, is a familiar reminder that Heartarama is almost here. The 48th edition of the American heart Association fundraiser will take place at the J.E. Hamilton Community House in Two Rivers, opening a 6-night, April 26th. Producer Jim Pautz, who takes over that role this year from Bev Denor said this will be his ‘6th’ show.
Emcee Biff Hansen makes a confession on the real reason he decided to become involved in 1980.
And, as they say, the rest is history! Producer Jim Pautz said many in the cast are talking about the future, not just the present.
Hansen reflected on attendees waiting in line in the early ‘70’s at the old Boilermakers Club, which later became Jacks-R-Better. But, many of those have passed away and they have to change the show a little and bring in new people.
The theme of the show this year is “Stay Classy Heart-a-Rama”, with bits including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire a CLASSroom teacher, a CLASSified ad-writers and a CLASSical pianist. Tickets for the 6 shows are available for sale at Piggly Wiggly locations in Two Rivers & Manitowoc or, by going to their new website at heartarama.org.
