A 5-2 win on the road at Kansas City has vaulted the Milwaukee Brewers into first place in the National League Central Division. Former Royal Lorenzo Cain had a single, a home run and a pair of walks as the Brewers ran their winning streak to seven games-in-a-row. Craig Counsell says they are playing well as a team during their win streak.
Cain earned several standing ovations from the fans who watched him lead their team to two American League titles and a World Series championship. Zach Davies held the Royals to two runs on four hits in six innings to pick up his second win.
Before the game, the Brewers activated starting catcher Manny Pina. Right-handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin will start tonight’s 7:15 P-M game at Kauffman Stadium.
