25th Assembly District Representative Paul Tittl in collaboration with three, in his words, “courageous grandmothers” from Manitowoc will host a foster care event titled “In The Best Interest of The Child.” Tittl says this summit to be held May 3rd from 8:45 until noon at the Manitowoc Holiday Inn, will focus on the devastating effects of the opioid crisis on families and the foster care system.
The local legislator says all three of these women have an incredible story to tell.
Tittl adds that because of the challenges that many face these women have bound together to share their stories of overcoming adversity and by doing so, hope to make things better for people facing similar situations.
Speakers at the event include First Lady Tonette Walker, Department of Children and Families Secretary Eloise Anderson, Elizabeth Hudson from the Office of Children’s Mental Health and Julie Poehlmann-Tynan from the Center for Healthy Minds. A panel discussion involving local officials will follow. The event is free and open to the public
