A Manitowoc native will be fighting at Bellator198 on Saturday. “Captain” Morgan Sickinger currently ranks as the best mixed martial arts fighter in Wisconsin. Sickinger was a wrestler in high school and college, when his coach introduced him to the world of MMA by showing Morgan footage of his fight.

MMA mixes the grappling and striking martial arts into one intense fighting style. While Morgan is not afraid to throw some punches, he tends to try to bring the fight to the ground.

Morgan has a professional MMA record of 20 wins and 10 losses. Of those 20 wins, 14 have been by submission, while four went to the judge’s decision one was by Knockout, and the last was by other means. Since MMA is a fighting sport, Morgan has had to overcome his share of injuries.

Morgan is coming into this weekend’s battle having won three consecutive fights. Morgan’s opponent will be Eric “Little Lee” Wisely, fighting out of Clinton Iowa. Both fighters are ranked as the top in their respective state, but Morgan has a plan.

The tale of the tape sees both men standing at 5’ 8” tall, weighing in the 155 pound weight class. Wisely is one year older than Sickinger, at age 33, and has a record of 28-9-1. There are only a few fights on the main card, and the extra air time will be filled with fights from the preliminary rounds. Morgan’s

fight will be on the prelims, but he says he feels like his fight has a good chance to make it onto the main show. Morgan has been promoting the bout around town, and told us that it will be shown on the Paramount Network. The main event of the card will see Fedor Emelianeko take on former UFC fighter, Frank Mir in a heavyweight match-up.
